Kate Bolduan is a popular American broadcast journalist and news anchor who currently works for CNN. She is based in New York City. Her full name is Katherine Jean Bolduan. She co-anchors CNN News Central alongside John Berman. Bolduan previously anchored State of America with Kate Bolduan, At This Hour with Kate Bolduan, and New Day. She once served as a congressional correspondent based in Washington, D.C., and also as a general assignment correspondent for the CNN network.

Between 2005 and 2007, Bolduan was a general assignment reporter for WTVD-TV in Durham, North Carolina. Afterward, she became a production assistant for NBC News and MSNBC in Washington, D.C. Kate even served at House & Garden magazine, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News.

Bolduan began her career at CNN in 2007 as a national correspondent for CNN Newsource. She did breaking news coverage and feature reports for several CNN Newsource affiliates. The most notable stories she covered include the 2008 United States presidential election, the Minneapolis Bridge collapse, the retiring NASA Space Shuttle fleet, and the O.J. Simpson armed robbery case. Bolduan delivered CNN’s initial misreporting on the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold “Obamacare” on June 28, 2012, making her future at the network uncertain at the time. She, however, was immediately made her co-anchor alongside Wolf Blitzer.

Together with Wolf, Blitzer, Bolduan was previously co-anchor of The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer before she moved to New York. The two provided current events, breaking news, political headlines, and reports within lively discussions during the two-hour program.
New Day
New Day, a weekday morning television show on CNN, premiered on June 17, 2013. Airing from 6,00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m., the show replaced Starting Point, formerly anchored by Soledad O’Brien, which had aired since January 2, 2012.
At This Hour with Kate Bolduan
Bolduan and John Berman joined CNN’s new morning show, At This Hour, which began on January 26, 2015. At This Hour aired weekdays from 11 a.m. to noon, broadcasting live from CNN’s New York Studios in Manhattan. Berman moved to 9 a.m. to co-host CNN Newsroom on February 6, 2017. Bolduan, therefore, took over as the sole host of the show as it changed its name to At This Hour.
The show was temporarily removed from the CNN lineup but returned in April 2021, focusing on daily events with correspondents sending their on-site live reports into the studio. On April 3, 2023, Kate, Berman, and Sara Sidner joined the program’s successor, CNN News Central.
State of America with Kate Bolduan
Bolduan became the anchor of the State of America with Kate Bolduan. The CNN International program covered the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign for a global audience. After the election, the program was renamed and refocused on U.S. news and affairs. The show broadcasts on Fridays at 23:00 from CNN’s New York studios in Manhattan.
For the first ten minutes of the show, Bolduan discussed the daily news. After a commercial break, a panel, typically consisting of four journalists and analysts from various backgrounds, discussed current affairs.
