Celine Dion, a French Canadian is a pop singer recognized for her vocal prowess and passion on stage. She achieved international stardom in the 1990s while working in the pop ballad tradition. Impresario Rene Angelil launched Dion’s career with the La Voix du bon Dieu ( The Voice of God) album in 1981. With her talent, she had to win the 1982, World Popular Song Festival in Tokyo, receive her first Felix award the following year, and become the first Canadian to receive a gold record in France.
