Since joining 6ABC, Brian’s reporting duties have brought him to every nook and cranny of the Tri-State region as well as all around the globe. Brian traveled to Florida and Alabama to capture the breathtaking sights when the enormous BP oil leak threatened the southern United States coast. In order to bring Action News inside the centuries-old rituals of the Vatican, Brian spent weeks in Rome, Italy, when the Catholic Church started the process of choosing a new Pope.
Brian was invited to the White House for a private chat with the President in the famous Cabinet Room as President Obama saw his first term weighed down by deteriorating polling. As he covered every Presidential and Vice Presidential Debate of the 2012 election cycle, he also took his love of politics on the road. Brian was the host and editor of Capital Tonight, a nightly news and interview program broadcast all over upstate New York before he joined Action News. In that capacity, Brian covered important statewide news. He performed live, in-depth interviews with every significant newsmaker and politician in New York State, twice winning the Associated Press Award for “Best Interview.” Under Brian’s leadership, the show he founded, originally a once-weekly, half-hour program shown in Albany, grew to a nightly, hour-long program syndicated live in 9 of New York’s 10 television markets, frequently doing more than just reporting headlines.
Brian broadcasts live as the host of Capital Tonight from locations nationwide, including the 2004 and 2008 National Democratic Conventions. Brian worked as a reporter and weekend anchor at Capital News 9 in Albany, New York, before hosting Capital Tonight. He started working in broadcast journalism at Bangor, Maine’s WVII-TV.
