Award-winning American meteorologist Abby Weppler is currently employed by South Bend, Indiana’s dual CBS/Fox-affiliated station WSBT 22 First Alert as a meteorologist. In March 2010, Weppler became a member of the WSBT 22 First Alert weather team. On WSBT 22 News at Midday, WSBT 22 News First at 4 PM, and WSBT 22 News at 5 PM, she provides the weather prediction.

Weppler was raised by her parents and three older sisters in Akron, Ohio. Additionally, she graduated from Mississippi State University with a Geoscience degree with a Meteorology concentration. Weppler graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and a minor in political science prior to joining the Bulldogs.

Prior to working at WSBT 22, Weppler worked for four years as a weather anchor and co-anchor at WTAP-TV in the Mid-Ohio Valley. During her time there, she also received awards from the Associated Press for “best anchor” and “best weathercast,” as well as “best weathercaster” from the West Virginia Broadcasters Association.
