Aida Osman might not ring any bells to many people as she has always been behind the scenes. Not until Shawna Clark in Rap Sh!t brought her beauty and talent on screen in 2022. Osman shifted from a career in corporate law to pursue one in comedy. She is a stand-up comedian, writer and actress from America. She formerly hosted the Keep It podcast. Her written works include the 2022 HBO Max series Rap Sh!t, in which she co-stars Big Mouth and Betty. She has worked out a way from the writer`s room to a television role.

A native of Nebraska, she starred as Shawna in Issa Rae`s “Rap Sh!t”. Before she joined the entertainment industry as a comedian, Osman applied and got accepted into a law school. However, she decided to take a break from schooling and explore the creative side of herself. She ended up so in love with comedy that she decided law was not just her thing. Aida promised her mother that in one year she would go back to school but in that one year, her career in entertainment took off. She first performed stand-up comedy in Nebraska before moving to New York in 2019. Her first television appearance was on MTV show Wild ‘n Out. This was followed by writing for Complex before starring in the Complex Networks web series Group Therapy. Aida moved to Los Angeles to co-host for Crooked Media’s pop culture podcast, Keep It. She wrote the Netflix show Big Mouth and Betty, the HBO series. Osman performed her first lead TV role on HBO Max as a co-star and staff writer for Rap Sh!t. In 2023, she acted in The Young Wife.
