Ari’el Stachel Career
He played his first part in a school musical when he was 15 years old. After finishing college, he took on a number of theatrical roles before getting the script for The Band’s Visit. He then went on to feature in the CBS drama Blue Bloods and the Netflix series Jessica Jones. Stachel went on seven auditions over a nine-month period before getting the part for which he was nominated for a Lortel Award and a Drama Desk Award and later won the Tony Award.
He started playing Prince Amir on the LGBTQ+ fanciful podcast The Two Princes in 2019. He was cast as Sergeant Hasim Khaldun on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit the following year and rose to fame. Then he acted as Sean, the fiancé of the title character, in the 2021 movie Zola. He was slated to perform alongside David Hyde Pierce in The Public Theatre’s upcoming musical adaption of the 2007 movie The Visitor in 2020. Tarek, a Syrian refugee without legal status, is played by Ari’el, who is of Yemeni and Ashkenazi Jewish descent.
