Ileto formerly worked as a reporter for WJZ-TV in Baltimore, Maryland, before moving to the City of Brotherly Love. She was one of the first journalists to cover the arrest of Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old who passed away from spinal injuries while in police custody, in-depth when she was there. Ileto was on the ground just before the rioting that followed his funeral started. She provided citizens of Maryland and the country with an up-close view of the tumult sparked by his death for 12 hours of live breaking news coverage. She continued to cover the widespread demonstrations for police reform, the significant changes to the police hierarchy, and the ongoing violence that engulfed the city in the months that followed.
Ileto worked at WAFF in Huntsville, Alabama, and KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico, before moving to Baltimore. She appeared on CNN for breaking weather coverage there to show the country how the people of New Mexico were coping with the torrent of bad weather that caused a major interstate to be closed from the Texas state line to Arizona.
