Cristiano Ronaldo’s Biography

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most remarkable players in the history of world football. By bagging five Ballon d`Or awards, a record three Uefa Men`s Player of the Year Awards, and four European Golden Boots, he has undoubtedly proven to be one of the greatest footballers of his generation. Cristiano has made over 1,200 professional career appearances, the most for an outfield player, managing over 850 official senior career goals. In the UEFA Champions League, he holds the record for most appearances (183), goals (140), and assists (42).

Aged 16, Ronaldo was promoted to the senior team after impressing Laszlo Boloni with his dribbling. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson became determined to sign Ronaldo after Manchester United lost to Sporting at the launch of the Estadio Jose Alvalade on August 6, 2003.
