Haswell started his broadcasting career in June 1996, in Chicago while serving as a radio reporter. After serving there for four years he moved to The Second City where he was hired to work as the television host.
He served there for two years and later on resigned to go back to Corus entertainment as a radio reporter. Thereafter, he joined the Weather network after resigning as a radio reporter.
While there, he was hired to serve as a weather anchor and reporter and played this role for almost 5 years prior to moving to New York. While in New York, he served as a broadcast meteorologist at WROC-TV prior to joining his current station of work.
