He attended Overbrook High School. It is said that Smith turned down a scholarship to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The reason for doing so was that he wanted to pursue his passion for rapping.
According to Smith, he says he was admitted to a ” Pre-engineering program for High students but he did not attend.

Will Smith met Jeff Townes at the age of 16 and the duo released a highly successful rap career as Dj Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince as the Mc of the hip hop. Their most successful single was ”Summertime” which was performed in 1989 and it earned them their second Grammy and peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
